hello user, i'm ed. if you don't already know, "Facebook" is a social
networking website which allows it's users to create profiles in designated
"networks" to communicate with one another, like email, or electronic
bulletin boards. "Facebook" offers features like instant messaging in
real time, as well as picture hosting and graphic interfaces for each
individual user. the website itself is home to over 100 million web
users, many of which navigate their personal profiles daily amongst their
peers. "Facebook" can be compared to "Myspace" or "Bebo", both are
social networking establishments that provide similar characteristics in
their programs. unlike "Myspace" however, "Facebook" does not allow
the user to modify the bare layout of the page, you are stuck with their
design. this doesn't end up being a problem in most cases, because
it's decently customizable. i approved of this aspect until now.
recently, the big shots at "Facebook" have decided that they are changing
the layout of every profile, without giving the users a real say in the
matter. some people, myself included, are very pleased with the
original interface and would never be interested in changing it. the
main reason is obviously the major change, but some have realized that their
commonly used "applications" are no longer useable. the layout itself
isn't the main issue here, but it does cause a problem for people who aren't
willing to learn how to navigate ANOTHER "new" website. i
however, do not like the new layout, so i am providing a method to "trick" "Facebook"
into giving you your old page back. this is a fairly simple fix,
and not permanent unless you want it to be..
